is a cold applied, splashzone and sub-sea corrosion protection
system. It is suitable for risers, piles, and pipelines. Corrosion inhibitors
in contact with the substrate provide active protection. are
held in place with flanged mechanical closures that induce hoop tension
into the wrap fabric insuring an inward force against the substrate. units may be removed for substrate inspection and then reinstalled.
Flanged Closure provides easy installation
Removable & Replaceable to facilitate
substrate inspection

Environmentally Safe
"Hoop Tension" forces in
outer skin counteract high wave suction forces
is a cold applied, splashzone and sub-sea corrosion protection
system specifically designed to provide an alternative to factory applied
coating for new construction in remote areas or the retrofit protection
of risers, piles, and pipelines for inshore, offshore, or sub-sea. units may be removed and refitted to facilitate substrate inspection at
regular intervals throughout the service life of the system.
The materials
in the system are stressed below their operational limits, insuring a
high safety factor in all parameters while in service. In designing ,
careful consideration was given to achieving a quick and easy installation
in both the North Sea, where sub zero temperatures are often experienced,
and in the elevated temperatures of the Middle East.
is of multi-layer construction. The individual components consist of outer
coating, polyamide reinforcing fabric and a polyester felt inner layer
which are in-line simultaneously bonded together to form a monocoque fabric.
This unique construction can be varied by adding or reducing the thickness
of the coatings or modifying the fabric. This feature allows us to change
physical characteristics such as induced hoop tension, impact, and abrasion
resistance and puncture strength to suit the application for which the system is to be used.
The absorbent
felt inner layer is impregnated with a water repellant thixotropic gel
which acts as a carrier for a number of inhibitors, or biocidal treatments,
as dictated by the substrates.
After installation,
the outer jacket provides permanent hoop tension to the substrate,
due to the elastomeric properties within the fabric. The closure system
facilitates ease of removal and replacement of individual units for routine
inspection of the substrate at intervals dictated by the client. The bolted flange closure has been designed to accommodate all fabric thicknesses
and, in common with surface preparation, reduces installation to its simplest
form, i.e. the mechanical removal of marine growth and any delaminate
iron oxide. Once installed, the inhibitors commence the pacification process
to neutralize and maintain surface contaminants in an inert state.
is a cold applied system and therefore does not require a hot work permit,
which significantly reduces pre-installation preparation necessary before
carrying out offshore installations.
Safety is
of paramount importance. conforms with the recommendations of
the "Cullon Report" regarding offshore safety in the British
sector of the North Sea and now recognized and practiced by many nations.
can be varied to accommodate hexagonal, square, "I" and "H"
section piles. In areas of the world where the regular removal of excessive
marine growth buildup is a costly annual exercise, may be overcoated
with a non-toxic, low surface energy anti-fouling system. |
